Mortals hold seashells to their ear to hear the sounds of the seas and imagine life inthe deep waters below. Perhaps a mermaid would look into a seashell to see and hear the sights and sounds of the earth above.

Tree of Life
As human kind emerges from the mists of time to enter a new millenium, hope abounds that all nations will be united in a friendship and love.

Doves of peace hover over our planet as a "helpful hand" guides the younger hand of humanity that strives to learn and grow.

Rainbow hands reach up on either side of the tree, symbolizing need to protect our beautiful world forever. View

This mythical creature is a state of blissful repose as waterfalls cascade from her hair into a watery world of lily trees and river horses galloping free down flowery slopes.

The quite beauty of the moment and the company of her own thoughts bring her comfort and a sense of peace. View

Shared Treasure
To each one of us, the magical seashell whispers a different ocean song. Some of us hear simply the soft comforting hush of currents rushing by.

Others see in their mind's eye images of little mermaid children playing with dolphins and glistening shell chariots racing by, drawn by sea unicorns and guarded by none other than King Neptune himself.

Magpie Fairy
I enjoyed painting this work, which I think of as the "Magpie Fairy" because just as the bird is attracted to bright shiny objects which he collects, so to my fairy has been attracted to various everyday objects. Discarded as rubbish, or accidentally lost, she finds them irresistible and adorns herself with them. Obviously because she is very tiny, the objects are depicted larger than life. I had great fun deciding which objects may have been discarded by humans and would be small enough and interesting enough for a fairy to collect. As you can see there are many items, from safety pins and paper clips to stamps and a bottle top, changed from the original wording "Dry" to read "Fey", obviously she felt it was more appropriate, in addition to many forest items such as acorns and oak leaves, she has nuts for rings and of course, last Christmas's broken 'fairy' light bulbs for earrings.Not a traditional fairy but rather a streetwise', happy-go-lucky, modern fairy. Spirit of Flight
The Spirit of Flight, the force responsible for the powers of movement of the wind and air, has gathered around her all the flying things she loves.

Birds, insects, flying fish, swirling leaves, seed of dandelions and sycamore trees, butterflies and fairies all dance around her in a grand array of wild free motion. View
